Fossil Flora is a series exploring the meeting point between ancient layers and new growth , where stone carries memory and organic life begins to emerge again.
The surfaces evoke geological formations shaped slowly over time through accumulation, pressure, and erosion. Layers of natural clay and subtle shifts in tone create a sense of depth, revealing traces of time within the material.
Each piece begins from a grounded, substantial base and rises into a narrower upward movement, as though gradually uncovered from within the clay itself. Carving becomes an act of discovery, revealing a new form emerging from something ancient and enduring.
The series holds a quiet tension between weight and growth, stillness and movement, the raw presence of the earth and the possibility of renewal.
Each object is hand-built from a combination of natural clays, individually shaped and carved by hand. The surfaces are left unglazed, preserving the natural variations, texture, and depth of the material.
Every piece is one of a kind, crafted with intention, sensitivity, and precise care.
